March 12,2026

This week in English I read up from slavery by booker T Washington and finished my book in unit 7 of High School 1. In Math I did different 3d polyhedrons. for example square pyramid and rectangular prism. In science we learned about the different layers that fossils are in. we also learned about the difference between archeology and paleontology. Archeology is the study of human artifacts, paleontology is the study of ancient animals and fossils.

In English I am still reading Up rom slavery by Booker T Washington. next week we are taking our test on it and i feel pretty confident with my work. In math we did out math review and test, as of right now I don't know my results. In history we learned about a spy named James Lafayette and how he was a double agent for America and Britain during the revolutionary war. In science we read about different ancient animals like Dunkleosteus and different Pteranodons.

In English I did sentence diagramming which was pretty easy for the most part as well as and reading up from slavery, at this point Booker T Washington just finished going to Hampton university and is a school teacher in Virginia. His brother john also graduated from Hampton and is working in the coal mines. In math we did inscribed shapes and area and circumference of a circle. the formula for  the area of a circle is 3.14xr squared and then the circumference is diameter x PI. In science we learned about different fossils in paleontology. In history we learned about Lafayette

This week in English I diagrammed sentences did another journal about a quote by Booker T Washington. “The persons who live constantly in a fault-finding atmosphere, who see only the dark side of life, become negative characters. They are the people who never go forward", is the quote that I wrote about. In math we learned about Pythagorean theorem and perimeter of polygons. did you know that the hypotenuse of a right triangle is the longest side and the other 2 sides are called legs. In History we learned about mercy Otis warren and Phyllis Wheatly. Mercy Otis Warren said "No republic ever yet stood on a stable foundation without satisfying the common people."

This week in English I diagrammed a lot of sentences and did a lot of vocabular. For example, did you know that the word cajole means to coax or convince in a sweet way to do something. In math we learned about a lot of angle and how to find the missing angle measures of the circle by knowing that a circle is 360 degrees all around. In science we took a test on kingdoms and the classifications of animals. 

February 5, 2026​

This week in English I memorized the middle east and southern united states as well as reading up from slavery by Booker T Washington. Some of the countries in the middle east are Cyprus Yemen Oman Jordan Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. In math I earned a lot about angles and bisecting different angles and lines. Did you know all triangles angles equal 180 degrees? In science we learned about invertebrates and vertebrates. We also learned about endothermic which means warm blooded and ectothermic which means cold blooded.

This week in English I did a ton of spelling and correcting Unit 5. I also finished my essay about being optimistic. In math I learned about  triangles and how you differentiate them, for example and acute triangle is only if all sides measure less hen 90 degrees. We also learned about functions and how to graph them on a coordinate plane. ln history I learned about the signers in the first continental congress and about the people that signed it for example john heart. many people made sacrifices to sign the declaration and I know I am grateful that they were brave enough to make those sacrifices.

This week in English I wrote an essay about the importance of being happy and sleeping. One reason why you should laugh and be happy is it helps your cardiovascular system and help prevent diseases. In math I learned about functions, slope line in the coordinate plane and inverse proportions. Did you know that a line that is horizontal has an undefined slope.. In History we learned about the 1st continental congress and learned the preamble of the Declaration of Independence. the preamble of the declaration of independence is "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness".

December 4, 2025

This week in English I worked on finishing unit four of high school one. It was mostly on the major rivers in the world like did you know that the Amazon River is the largest river in South America spanning around four thousand. In math we learned about conversions and triangles and identifying unit rates. Did you know that there is 3 feet to a yard and 5280 feet to a mile. in history we learned about the Renaissance painting the ceiling of the Sistine chapel. Did you know he had to paint upside down standing on scaffolding.​

November 20, 2025

In English I learned about Nordic countries as well as Emily Dickinson's poems. we also did a project on painting flowers I did a red watering can with flowers in it. In math we have been learning about percent and and percent increase and decrease. I think percentages are a very important skill to have for shopping. In science we learned about simple machines for example stairs and wheelchair ramps are inclined planes, we also learned about the 5 other simple machines the screw wedge lever wheel and axle

and finally a pulley.

This week in English i took a test and got a  94%. We did diagramming sentences and it was amazing. In math we learned about ratios and how you find proportional fraction with ratios by using cross products, it was pretty easy i must say. We also did a lot of inequalities. In history we learned about king john and the magna carta. King john was a very bad person, he supposedly killed his nephew that is pretty mean.

This week I was gone for most of it but I was here for Wednesday and Thursday. In English I learned about diagramming sentences and how to differentiate if affect or effect goes in a  sentence. We also read more about Just David. In math we learned about soling and graphing multistep inequalities. We got a review on our prime and composite numbers. In science we learned about newtons second law of motion which is; The greater the mass of an object the greater force needed to accelerate the object. We also learned about newtons third which is; When an object pushes on another object, the object being acted upon pushes back with equal force.​

This week kin English we learned about dependent and independent clauses, they were pretty easy since I did them last year. we also learned about Add and ad in a sentence and why they are different. in math we learned about set notation and evaluating square roots. a few square roots are √4 equals 2, √9 equals 3, √16 equals 4. in science we learned about light sound and velocity. did you know Galileo Galilei was the one who first found out the speed of light.

This week in English i took my test about the book just David by Eleanor h porter. I also found dependent and independent clauses. in math i took a retest with lots of fraction. Yesterday we learned about set notation. In science we learned about about newtons first law which is an object in motion stays in motion; an object at rest stays at rest until acted upon by an external force. This i also known as inertia. We also learned how different texture can have different friction that limits motion.

In English I learned about the Hudson river school and how to analyze complex poems. I am somewhat close to finishing the slideshow. In math we evaluating equations. It was mostly just order of operations and a review of last years. In science I took the test on the human body. Some of the things on it were parts of s cell labelling the the inside of a bone and muscles. We also did punnet squares

September 25, 2025

This week in English we started working on a slideshow about the Hudson river school. Of art. In this school they did a art untraditionally by walking down trails stopping and drawing or painting whatever they saw then kept walking while traditional art you would sit in a studio and do the art from your mind. In math I learned about scientific notation as well as coordinate planes. The Y line goes vertical and the  X coordinate goes horizontal. in science we learned about the skin and did a treasure hunt about the human body.

I took my test in English this week. it was somewhat hard but I did good and got an A. something that was on the test was sentence diagramming. I am really glad I go to VLMS since in public school I had no idea how to diagram sentences. in math i learned about negative exponents  did a logic  lesson  and properties of real numbers. In the logic lesson it was just talking about numbers one through nine and random equations using numbers 1 through 9. In science we learned about the  muscular system. Turns out the calve isn't the muscle it just the part of your leg the muscle is called a gastrocnemius.

This week in English i learned about Greek roots poetry memorization and memorizing the states. Did you know that the Greek root post means after. In math i learned about adding and subtracting integers and multiplying and dividing integers. We also learned about Multiplying and dividing fractions. Did you know that if you it is the same sign like negative and negative then it is positive if it is negative and positive then it is negative. In science we learned about the heart and how it pumps blood. A few of the parts of the heart is the aorta and the pulmonary valve. This week was really fun although we had 3 people that were sick!

This week in English I learned about diagramming sentences parts of speech and making sentences more descriptive. I also started working on a journal about the most important things in education. (linked below) In math we learned about converting decimals to fractions, and dividing large numbers. for example 810 divided by 90 equals 9. you can simply take the zeros off 90 and 810 to make it 81 divided by 9 equals 9. in science we learned about Noah's arc and about all the animal's he brought on. we also finger-painted a rainbow because it is the symbol of gods forgiveness to never flood the earth again. In science we learned about the different foods and the digestive system. we did an experiment about the gastric acid in our stomach represented by vinegar and bread representing the chewed up food and the vinegar turned the bread to mush.

This week it was short since it was the first week of school. In math we learned about prime factorization, Greatest common factor, least common multiples, prime and composite numbers. In language arts we learned about the vocabulary about Just David. This story is a bout a boy who lives in a small cottage in the woods with his father but his father is very sick so they have to move. In science we learned about the parts of a cell stages of a baby and the digestive system. Did you know there are over 200 different types of cells in your body?
